My name’s Fe, coffee lover, cake baker and unashamed wool worshiper.  I’m also the founder of The Knitterati – Britain’s first Guerrilla yarn-mobile/coffee shop!  The seed was sown last year, when my friend Petra mentioned that she was going to be selling her much loved and well traveled Choc Star van, Jimmy.   She had set her sights on new horizons, and the new low emissions zone in London meant that Jimmy could no longer cruise the streets of the capital.  Cue Fe…..and the streets of Cornwall!

Having recently moved down to  the sea, I’d been contemplating ideas of opening  a Melbourne style coffee shop down in Falmouth.  My love of strong creamy coffees and home-made cakes got the creative juices flowing, but the love of the road kept calling to me.  The answer….a mobile coffee shop.

But how to make it stand out from the crowd? Well along with my passion for delicious coffee (ain’t nothing worse than a watery, bitter excuse for a latte), is my love of WOOL.  You heard it here,  wool is the new silk.  I can wile away many an hour knitting and crocheting and I think it’s only right and fair of me to share this joy!

Make way…..The Knitterati coming through!

  1. Fe, you rock. Can we use the Shambala Commu-knitty blanket to cover up Jimmy during these cold days? I for one would be glad that my random square was cruising the streets Falmouth on such a venerable vehicle.

  2. Hey Fe, I have just got back from South American adventures and am so excited to see not only the lovely Shambala Blanket in all its glory but also to hear about your amazing plans for Jimmy and the mobile knitting coffee bonanza. Ali xxx
